Softball Rolls Past Bloomfield

Little Ferry, NJ - Felician swept Bloomfield in commanding fashion, erupting for a 10-2 run-rule win in Game 1 before shutting the door with a 2-0 victory in Game 2 behind dominant pitching and timely execution.

Game One

Felician opened their April 18 doubleheader against Bloomfield with a commanding 10-2 run-rule victory, powered by timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and a lights-out pitching performance. After falling behind 2-0 in the first inning, the Golden Falcons quickly turned the tide with a four-run outburst in the second to take control. They continued to apply pressure, adding five more runs in the fourth and another in the fifth to close out the game in just five innings. Kimberly Torres led the offensive charge with a perfect 3-for-3 performance at the plate, driving in four runs and reaching base every time. Macie Jacquet sparked the lineup with a 2-for-2 effort, scoring three runs, drawing a walk, and swiping a base. Hannah Ramirez chipped in with a hit, an RBI, a run scored, and a sacrifice fly, while Sara Torres reached base twice and came around to score. In the circle, Riley Williams delivered a dominant complete-game outing, allowing just four hits and one earned run while striking out six without issuing a walk. As a team, Felician recorded nine hits, drew five walks, and didn't strike out once, capitalizing on five Bloomfield errors to produce 10 runs. Defensively, the Golden Falcons played clean and efficient softball, recording 15 putouts and three assists with just one error.

Game Two

Felician capped off a strong afternoon with a 2-0 shutout victory over Bloomfield in Game 2 of their April 18 doubleheader, completing the sweep with dominant pitching and timely offense. After a quiet first inning, the Golden Falcons took the lead in the second behind a key sacrifice bunt from Kailey Alas that brought home the game's first run. They added an insurance run in the sixth when M. La delivered an RBI double, the biggest swing of the game. Aria Reyes set the table from the bottom of the order, reaching base in all three of her plate appearances with a hit and two walks while scoring one of Felician's two runs. Kimberly Torres also contributed with a hit and walk, helping to generate pressure in the middle of the lineup. The real difference came in the circle, where Jocelyn Moody earned the win with four shutout innings, striking out seven while allowing just four hits. Skye Limardo closed the door with three scoreless frames of her own, giving up only one hit and striking out three to earn the save. Felician managed just four hits but remained disciplined at the plate, drawing four walks, avoiding strikeouts, and executing a sacrifice play. Defensively, the Golden Falcons were sharp, recording 21 putouts and four assists while committing only one error.
