Wilmington, DE - The Golden Falcons endured back-to-back heartbreaking losses against Goldey-Beacom, dropping Game One 7-6 and falling again in extra innings in Game Two, 8-7, on a walk-off single.
Game One
In Game One, the Golden Falcons came up just short in a hard-fought 7-6 loss to Goldey-Beacom. Felician posted a strong offensive showing with a .333 team batting average, recording nine hits and driving in all six runs. The team also drew two walks and was hit by pitch twice, while adding a pair of doubles. After falling behind by five runs, the Golden Falcons sparked a comeback with a big fifth inning and tied the game in the top of the seventh on a clutch RBI single. The pitching staff combined for four strikeouts and allowed just one walk over 38 batters faced.
Mikayla Brown led the charge offensively, going 2-for-4 with a double and five RBIs, including the game-tying hit.
Kimberly Torres added a 2-for-4 performance with a double, while
Macie Jacquet contributed with a hit, a walk, and a run scored. Skyle Limardo, would get the start in the circle for the Golden Falcons, tossing 3.2 innings. Limardo would allow just three runs to cross, while fanning three batters. Mallory Shelvin would pitch in relief for Felician, tossing the final 3.0 innings. Shelvin would also step up to the plate, recording a single and a run scored for the Golden Falcons.
Game Two
In Game Two, the Golden Falcons once again came up just short, falling to Goldey-Beacom 8-7 in extra innings on a walk-off single. Felician tallied seven hits, including three extra-base hits, and drove in all seven runs at the plate while also drawing three walks. The Falcons struck early, putting up three runs in the first inning to take an early lead. After Goldey-Beacom rallied to go ahead, Felician responded in the seventh, tying the game at 7-7 behind clutch RBIs from Kimberly Torres and Mikayla Brown, including Brown's game-tying two-run homer. The pitching staff delivered 5.2 scoreless innings to keep the game within reach, while the defense backed them up with a flawless performance—recording twenty-six putouts and fourteen assists without committing an error. Mikayla Brown led the offense, going 2-for-4 with four RBIs, two runs scored, a double, and a critical home run. Kimberly Torres added a double and two RBIs, while Sara Torres chipped in an RBI. Skye Limardo was strong in relief, tossing 4.2 innings and allowing just one unearned run while striking out one.
