Softball Splits Against College of Staten Island

Staten Island, NY - Felician split its doubleheader with Staten Island, earning a 9–6 victory in Game One before falling 4–2 in Game Two. The Golden Falcons totaled 21 hits across the two games, highlighted by a four-RBI performance from Kimberly Torres and multiple multi-hit efforts throughout the lineup.

Game One

Felician scored nine runs on 12 hits, including three doubles and one home run. The Golden Falcons drew three walks and struck out once while leaving seven runners on base.

Felician broke through with a four-run third inning. Kaitlyn DeBondt singled to start the rally before Hannah Ramirez reached and Gabriella Diaz moved the runners into scoring position. Kimberly Torres then delivered a three-run home run to left-center, and Karina De La Vega later came around to score on an RBI groundout from Brielle Cubala to give the Falcons a 4–1 lead.

After falling behind later in the inning, Felician responded with a run in the fifth when Karina De La Vega scored on a fielder's choice.

The Falcons took control in the sixth inning with four more runs. Mallory Shevlin worked a walk before DeBondt singled and Ramirez advanced the runners. Torres delivered an RBI single to tie the game, De La Vega added a sacrifice fly to give Felician the lead, and Kelsey Vitalis followed with a two-run double to extend the advantage.

Kimberly Torres led the offense with three hits, including a home run, and four RBIs. Kaitlyn DeBondt added three hits and scored twice, while Karina De La Vega recorded a hit, two runs scored, and an RBI. Sienna Cardell contributed two doubles, and Kelsey Vitalis added a double and two RBIs.

Felician used two pitchers in the game. Jocelyn Moody started and worked 2.1 innings, allowing six runs (five earned). Kelsey Vitalis earned the win in relief, tossing 4.2 scoreless innings while allowing no hits and striking out one.

Game Two

Felician scored two runs on 12 hits, including one double and one triple. The Golden Falcons drew three walks and struck out three times while leaving 13 runners on base.

Felician tied the game in the third inning when Karina De La Vega tripled and later scored on an RBI single from Kelsey Vitalis.

The Falcons added another run in the fourth inning when Hannah Ramirez doubled and later came home on a sacrifice fly from Vitalis.

Karina De La Vega led the offense with three hits, including a triple, while Kelsey Vitalis recorded two hits and drove in both runs. Kailey Alas and Alyson Walling each added two hits, and Hannah Ramirez contributed a double and a run scored.

Felician used two pitchers in the game. Jocelyn Moody took the loss after allowing four runs (three earned) over three innings. Kylie Dressel followed with three scoreless innings in relief.
