Baseball Sweeps Bridgeport To Secure Series Win

Lyndhurst, NJ - Felician swept its doubleheader against Bridgeport on Wednesday, earning an 8–6 victory in Game One before securing a 3–1 win in Game Two. The Golden Falcons used a big inning to power the opener and relied on strong pitching in the second game to complete the sweep.

Game One

Felician scored eight runs on 10 hits, including two doubles and one triple. The Golden Falcons drew five walks and struck out three times while leaving eight runners on base and stealing five bases.

Felician answered early before breaking the game open with a five-run fourth inning. Bryce Curry singled to start the rally before Andrew DeAngelis worked a walk and Matthew Scrivanic was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Ernesto Polanco delivered an RBI single, and Braden Walsh followed with a bases-loaded walk to tie the game. Thomas Iaquinto then came through with a two-run single to give Felician the lead, and Haiden Walters capped the inning with an RBI groundout to make it 6–3.

The Falcons added to their lead in the sixth inning when Braden Walsh tripled and later scored on an RBI single from Iaquinto.

After Bridgeport cut into the deficit, Felician responded in the seventh inning. Ernesto Polanco worked a walk and stole second before Braden Walsh delivered an RBI single to bring him home and extend the lead to 8–6.

Walsh led the offense with three hits, including a double and a triple, while driving in two runs and scoring once. Iaquinto added two hits and three RBI, while Jose David Medrano and Curry each recorded two hits. Polanco contributed a hit, two runs scored, and an RBI.

Felician used four pitchers in the game. Max Weber earned the win, allowing four runs (three earned) over five innings while striking out five. Aiden Denton followed in relief, while Kyle Bednarski provided 1.2 innings of scoreless work. Andrew Gendi closed out the game with a scoreless ninth.

Game Two

Felician scored three runs on eight hits, including one double and seven singles. The Golden Falcons drew two walks and struck out five times while leaving seven runners on base.

Felician broke through in the fifth inning. Jeremy Espinal singled before Haiden Walters doubled to put runners in scoring position. Espinal scored on a wild pitch, and Luis De La Cruz followed with an RBI single to give the Falcons a 2–1 lead.

The Falcons added an insurance run in the sixth inning. Rocko Brzezniak singled and later scored when Ernesto Polanco delivered an RBI single to extend the lead to 3–1.

Luis De La Cruz led the offense with three hits and an RBI, while Haiden Walters added a double and a run scored. Ernesto Polanco contributed a hit and an RBI, and Rocko Brzezniak added a pinch-hit single and scored a run.

Felician used two pitchers in the game. Chris Laieta earned the win with a dominant outing, allowing one run on one hit over 5.2 innings while striking out eight. Jackson Walsh closed the game with 1.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn the save.
