Rutherford, NJ - The Tigers of Holy Family came to town for a CACC Women's Lacrosse matchup. The Golden Falcons started fast, taking control early behind Madison Cancela's opening goal and a free-position finish from Kayla Fox. Felician maintained steady offensive pressure throughout the first half, with Cancela and Kathleen Lopez each adding goals, while Natalia Ogando also found the back of the net. Strong draw control play from Aly Amadruto and Fox helped fuel possession, allowing Felician to build a 6-3 advantage midway through the second quarter.
Defensively, Felician remained active and disruptive, forcing multiple turnovers behind efforts from Lesley Garcia, Mackenzie Fox, Mary Gazaleh, and Rachael Rodriguez. Goalkeeper Jessica Naoum anchored the unit with several key saves, helping the Golden Falcons hold their lead for much of the half.
Holy Family responded late in the second quarter to even the score at 6-6 heading into halftime, and the back-and-forth battle continued into the third. After falling behind, Felician answered with resilience as Fox and Amadruto each converted free-position opportunities to keep the game within reach.
Despite strong defensive stands and continued pressure, Holy Family used a late third-quarter run to create separation. Felician continued to fight until the final moments, but ultimately could not close the gap. The Golden Falcons showed balance on both ends of the field, highlighted by efficient scoring, aggressive defense, and consistent effort throughout a tightly contested matchup.
Felician Women's Lacrosse returns to action Saturday April 4 at 11AM to take on Post University on the road.
