East Rutherford, N.J. - The women's lacrosse team dropped a 13-2 decision to Bridgeport on Wednesday night at Riggin Memorial Field. Despite the final score, the Golden Falcons continued to compete throughout the contest and created opportunities on both ends of the field.
Bridgeport built an early lead with six first-quarter goals and added two more in the second to take control at halftime. Felician goalkeeper
Jessica Naoum kept the Falcons in the game with nine saves, as the defense forced 14 turnovers and collected 16 ground balls.
Rachael Rodriguez led the effort defensively with five caused turnovers and six ground balls.
Felician broke through in the third quarter with back-to-back from
Natalia Ogando and
Kathleen Lopez.
Mackenzie Fox and
Mary Gazaleh each recorded assists on the scoring plays as the Falcons showed resilience in the second half.
Kayla Fox added a tea-high five draw controls and five shots in the effort.
The Golden Falcons will wrap up their season on Saturday, April 25 at 6:30 PM. The team will honor their seniors prior to the game.
