Rutherford, N.J. - The women's lacrosse team dropped a 19-6 decision to Chestnut Hill on Saturday night, while honoring the team's nine seniors.
Felician opened the scoring early, as
Kayla Fox found the back of the net just under five minutes into the contest. Chestnut Hill responded quickly, using a strong first quarter to take a 5-2 advantage after the opening 15 minutes.
The Golden Falcons showed resilience in the second quarter, scoring three goals. Fox added her second, while
Alyssa Tropeano and
Kathleen Lopez each added their own. The Griffins carried a 10-5 lead into halftime.
Chestnut Hill pulled away in the third quarter, scoring five unanswered goals to extend their lead. Defensively, Felician continued to battle with a 28-24 ground ball advantage.
Claudia Goncalves accounted for Felician's lone goal in the fourth quarter, as
Madison Cancela contributed a goal and an assist.
Aly Amadruto and
Rachael Rodriguez combined for 10 ground balls. In goal
Natalia Ogando and
Jessica Naoum split time, combining for seven saves.
