Raleigh, NC – Felician earned a pair of wins on the day, defeating Shaw 9–1 in Game One before topping Frostburg State 7–2 in Game Two behind power throughout the lineup and steady pitching performances.
Game One
Felician set the tone immediately in a 9–1 win over Shaw.
The Golden Falcons broke through in the first when Annika Smith delivered a three-run double to right field after Hannah Ramirez reached to open the game, giving Felician an early 3–0 lead. The Falcons added three more in the third behind RBI doubles from Kimberly Torres and Brielle Cubala, along with a run scoring on an error to extend the advantage to 6–0.
Felician continued to add on late. Gabriella Diaz drove in Ramirez with a double in the sixth, and the Falcons plated two more in the seventh on an RBI single from Marielle Balonze and continued pressure on the bases.
Felician finished with nine runs on eight hits and took advantage of three Shaw errors. Smith led with three RBI, while Diaz added a double, RBI, and two stolen bases.
In the circle, Jocelyn Moody threw four shutout innings with six strikeouts to earn the win. Kailey Dressel closed out the final three innings, allowing one run and striking out two.
Game Two
Felician followed with a 7–2 win over Frostburg State, using four home runs to take control.
After falling behind early, Mallory Shevlin tied the game with an RBI single in the second. In the third, Torres launched a two-run home run to give Felician the lead. Annika Smith added a two-run homer in the fifth, and Mikayla Brown and Karina De La Vega hit back-to-back home runs in the sixth to put the game out of reach.
Felician totaled seven runs on nine hits, with Ramirez collecting two hits and Brown adding two hits and a homer.
Moody earned her second win of the day with four innings of work, allowing two runs. Skye Limardo tossed three scoreless innings in relief to secure the victory.
