Sparks, MD. - The Felician University men's lacrosse team battled offensively but fell to Davis & Elkins Tuesday, 17-14, at USA Lacrosse Headquarters.
Felician produced a strong offensive showing with 14 goals on 48 shots, led by
Liam Dunn, who recorded five goals.
Ethan Todner added three goals, while
Stanley Labady II and
Brian Rosko each scored twice.
Connor Langdon contributed a goal and three assists for the Golden Falcons.
Davis & Elkins jumped out to an early advantage, scoring six goals in the opening quarter to a take a 6-3 lead. Felician responded in the second quarter with goals from Dunn and Todner to trim the deficit, but the Senators carried an 8-5 edge into halftime.Â
The Golden Falcons continued to push in the third quarter, highlighted by back-to-back goals from Dunn that helped Felician close the gap to 11-8 entering the final period.Â
Felician mounted its strongest surge in the fourth quarter, scoring six times, including two man-up goals from Rosko and another pair from Dunn. The Golden Falcons cut the deficit to one late in the game, but the Senators answered with two goals in the final two minutes to secure the 17-14 victory.Â
In goal, Landon Santagnelo made nine saves for Felician. The Golden Falcons held advantages in shots, ground balls, and face offs, while converting three of six extra-man opportunities.Â
Felician will look to bounce back for their home opener against Caldwell on Wednesday, March 11. The opening face off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
