Baseball Earns Series Win Following A Double Header Sweep Against Dominican

Pomona, NY - Felician earned a doubleheader sweep over Dominican on Tuesday, pulling away late for a 7–2 win in Game One before grinding out a 5–2 extra-inning victory in Game Two.

Game One

Felician totaled seven runs on 12 hits, using a steady middle-inning push before creating separation late.

After being held scoreless through four innings, Felician broke through in the fifth. With traffic on the bases, Haiden Walters drove in a run on a fielder's choice before Luis De La Cruz delivered a two-run single to give the Falcons a 3–2 lead.

Felician added on in the sixth. Ernesto Polanco doubled to start the inning and later scored on a sacrifice bunt from Matthew Scrivanic to extend the lead.

The Falcons put the game away in the ninth. Scrivanic reached to start the inning before De La Cruz launched a two-run home run to left center. Neisser Sanchez followed with an RBI double later in the frame to cap the scoring.

Luis De La Cruz led the offense with two hits, including a home run, and four RBI. Rocko Brzezniak added two hits, while Brandon Petrick and Matthew Scrivanic each collected two hits. Neisser Sanchez contributed a double and an RBI, and Ernesto Polanco added a double and scored twice.

On the mound, Felician pieced together a strong staff effort. Chris Laieta started and allowed two runs over 3.1 innings. Devin Malvasio earned the win with 3.2 scoreless innings in relief, Collin Kratzer added a clean inning, and Gavin Enright closed it out with a scoreless ninth.

Game Two

Felician finished with five runs on 11 hits, breaking through in the 11th inning after a tightly played game throughout.

The Falcons struck first in the fifth when Matthew Scrivanic connected on a solo home run. Later in the inning, Bryce Curry added an RBI single after Haiden Walters worked his way around the bases to make it 2–1.

Dominican answered to tie the game, and both teams were held scoreless through the middle and late innings as pitching took over.

Felician finally broke through in the 11th. Andrew DeAngelis led off with a triple, and Braden Walsh brought him home on a bunt to give Felician the lead. Jeremy Espinal followed with an RBI single, and Haiden Walters added another run with an RBI groundout to extend the lead to 5–2.

Matthew Scrivanic led the offense with three hits, including a home run, while Andrew DeAngelis added two hits, including a triple. Bryce Curry also recorded two hits and an RBI, and Braden Walsh and Jeremy Espinal each drove in a run in the decisive inning.

Felician leaned on its pitching depth in the extra-inning win. Sadier Vicioso worked five innings in the start, Andrew Gendi delivered four scoreless innings in relief, Max Weber earned the win with a strong inning in extras, and Antonio Sansone closed the door with a scoreless 11th.
