Penmen freshman pitcher Justin Valdespina (Garfield, N.J.) allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits in six innings for his first career victory. Valdespina struck out five hitters and walked one, departing after setting down his final four hitters.

Freshman right-hander Jake Walkinshaw (Seymour, Conn.) tossed two perfect innings for the Penmen. Returning All-America closer Ben Criscuolo (Branford, Conn.) then completed a 1-2-3 ninth with a pair of strikeouts for his first save of 2015.
