Baseball Set to Face Wilmington in CACC Championship Semifinals

Rutherford, NJ - One year removed from the best season in program history that concluded with a trip to the NCAA Division II College World Series in Cary, North Carolina, the Felician Golden Falcons once again find themselves in familiar territory heading into the postseason. Similar to last season's tournament run, Felician opened the 2026 CACC Tournament with a postseason sweep over Post University at Vincent J. and Lenda F. Naimoli Ballpark.

The Golden Falcons closed the regular season with a 30-19 overall record and a 20-13 mark in conference play, earning the No. 4 seed in the CACC Tournament while also sitting fifth in the latest East Region rankings. Throughout the season, Felician has leaned on one of the conference's most explosive offenses, powered by a veteran core that has continued to deliver in key moments.

Leading the way has been one of the most decorated players in program history, Haiden Walters. After rewriting several program career records this season, Walters recently moved into second place on Felician's all-time hits list while continuing to provide leadership both on and off the field. His consistency at the plate has remained a driving force behind the Falcons' offensive success throughout the year.

Felician's depth has also been strengthened by the versatility of Luis De La Cruz and Jose David Medrano, who have evolved into far more than just catchers for the Golden Falcons. Both players have become everyday contributors in the lineup, shifting into utility roles when not behind the plate to ensure their bats remain in the order. Division I transfer Bryce Curry has also made an immediate impact during his first season with the program, bringing consistency and production to the middle of the lineup.

On the mound, Sadier Vicioso has served as a steady presence in the rotation, posting a 3-2 record with a 4.35 ERA. Out of the bullpen, Brandon Lynn, Andrew Gendi, and Gavin Enright have emerged as key late-inning arms for the Golden Falcons, providing stability in crucial situations throughout the season.

Felician now prepares for a highly anticipated rematch against Wilmington University in a meeting that carries postseason history. Last season, the Golden Falcons earned the final word by eliminating Wilmington in the NCAA Tournament after previously falling to the Wildcats in the CACC Championship. This season, Wilmington claimed the regular season series two games to one, setting the stage for another tightly contested postseason battle.

The two teams met in a three-game series that featured competitive matchups throughout. Felician opened the series with a 5-2 victory behind a dominant outing from Devin Malvasio and a three-run home run from De La Cruz before Wilmington responded with a 7-5 win in Game Two despite multi-hit performances from Medrano and Curry.

In the series finale, the Golden Falcons battled back from multiple deficits and carried a late lead into the ninth inning before Wilmington secured a walk-off 10-9 victory. Felician totaled 14 hits in the loss, highlighted by a four-RBI performance from Walters and a 4-for-5 effort from Curry. Across the three-game set, the Falcons' offense remained productive, combining for 19 runs while receiving major contributions from Walters, Curry, De La Cruz, and Medrano.

With postseason experience, veteran leadership, and one of the conference's most dangerous lineups, the Golden Falcons will now look to rise to the occasion once again as they continue their pursuit of another deep postseason run.
