ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – Despite 22 points and 10 rebounds from senior forward Kameron Stone (Bronx, N.Y.), Felician University suffered a 77-68 loss to Merrimack College in non-conference women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon on the Hennessy Center's Coach Baxter Court.

The game concluded the action in the two-day, four-team Regina Rivera Memorial Tournament, hosted by Dominican (N.Y.) College. The Golden Falcons and Warriors were meeting for the first time. Merrimack will reclassify to NCAA Division I in 2019-20.

Stone turned in the fifth "double-double" of her career, topping four double-figure scorers for Felician (0-2). Senior guard Kayla Diaz (Clifton, N.J.) recorded 12 points, four assists and seven steals.

Merrimack (4-1) also saw four players score in double figures, led by 18 points, on 7-of-11 shooting, from freshman guard Kate Mager (New City, N.Y.). Junior forward Denia Davis-Stewart (Dorchester, Mass.) was a low-post force for the Warriors, turning in 10 points, 17 rebounds and seven blocked shots.

The Warriors scored nine consecutive first quarter points to turn a tie game into a 17-8 lead at the 1:55 mark, and exited the period ahead, 20-10. Merrimack was ahead by 15 points on two occasions in the second quarter, the last time at 29-14 with 6:31 to go until intermission.

A 9-0 run, capped by a three-point field goal from Bionca Chambers (Bronx, N.Y.) pulled the Golden Falcons to with a six-point deficit. Felician scored just two points in the half's final three minutes, however, and trailed, 33-25, at the break.

The third quarter saw Felician crawl as close as five points twice, but never closer, and trail, 50-43 after Lexi Martin's (Franklin, Mass.) buzzer beating putback. Stone talled 12 fourth-quarter points, but the Golden Falcons could not obtain enough defensive stops to make a serious run at the victory.

Chambers (four assists, five steals) and Kristin Smith (Hainesport, N.J.) finished with 11 points apiece for Felician. The Warriors received 17 points from Lindsay Werner (Groton, Mass.) and 12 off the bench by Mayson Kimball (Webster, N.H.). Felician went 11 for 11 from the foul line but was out-scored by nine points from the stripe.

The Golden Falcons helped forced 25 Warrior turnovers but committed 20 of their own.

Felician is next in action on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. match-up with Bowie State University in Bowie, Md.
