Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Felician University hit three home runs, including the first in the collegiate career of freshman Andy Antonio (Jersey City, N.J.), but suffered a 12-8 non-conference baseball loss to host Barry University on Monday evening at Feinbloom Field.
Felician juniors Edwin Tavarez (Garfield, N.J.) and Dauri Genao (West New York, N.J.) each had a three-run home run among two hits. Third baseman Brandon Sanchez (Miami Lakes, Fla.) was 4 for 4 plus a walk with two runs batted in for Barry (8-15), which outhit the Golden Falcons, 17-7.
Felician (3-10) fell behind, 10-0 after four innings. Genao broke through off of Buccaneer left-hander Christian Orduna (Miami, Fla.) in the fifth with his three-run shot, but a pinch-hit RBI single by Steven Torres (Hialeah, Fla.) in the home half made the score 11-3. The Golden Falcons pulled closer on Jake Stoller's (Merion Station, Pa.) sacrifice fly in the second and Tavarez's shot in the eighth, but the Barry bullpen escaped further damage. The hosts tacked on a run in the eighth and Antonio's blast in the ninth provided the final margin.
Orduna (2-1) allowed four runs – two earned – on three hits in 6 1/3 innings. Levis Aguila (Miramar, Fla.) doubled and scored for Felician.
