PALISADES PARK, N.J.  – Freshman right-handed pitchers Dylan Morrill (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) and Mike Caldon (Matawan, N.J./Matawan Regional) combined on a three-hit shutout to lead Felician University to a 7-0 non-conference baseball victory over visiting Queens (N.Y.) College on Wednesday evening at Overpeck County Park.

Junior outfielder Chris Fernandez (Boca Raton, Fla./Boca Raton Community) and sophomore second baseman Alex Torres (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Liberty) collected two hits each for Felician (6-10), which has won its last three games. Fernandez and Levis Aguila (Miramar, Fla./Hialeah Gardens) drove in two runs apiece.

Morrill (3-1) was making his first collegiate start after six relief appearances. Queens (5-8) put two runners on base in each of the first three innings, including men on second and third with one out in the first, but Morrill escaped on each occasion. Morrill and Caldon then combined to retire the final 19 Knights in order.

After Torres' RBI single capped a two-run second inning for Felician, the hosts extended to a 4-0 lead on an RBI single from Dauri Genao (West New York, N.J./Memorial) and a run-scoring double from Fernandez in the third. The Golden Falcons took full control on Aguila's two-run single in the fourth, and completed the scoring on another run-producing hit by Fernandez in the seventh.

In six innings, Morrill gave up three hits, struck out nine batters, walked one and hit two. Caldon worked three perfect frames with six strikeouts and was credited with his first collegiate save. Aguila was on base three times and scored twice.

Marc Cisco (Long Island City, N.Y./McClancy) was 2 for 3 and Juan De La Rosa (Bronx, N.Y./Taft) had a first-inning double for the Knights.

Felician plays a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader against Bloomfield College on Sunday at noon at West Side Park in Newark.
