Box Score 2 MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Felician Baseball continues their winning skid down in Myrtle Beach after defeating Mercy College Friday afternoon. Junior, Julian Uejima (River Edge, NJ) batted a walk off to secure the Golden Falcon 6-5 win over the Mavericks.
Dauri Genao (West New Yok, NJ) went 3-4 with 2 runs and Anthony Lamar (Freeport, NY) went 2-4 with 3 RBI's. In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Golden Falcons held a 2-run lead after a Edwin Tavarez (Garfield, NJ) single and Dillon DiBartolomeo (Franklin Lakes, NJ) sac fly. By the sixth and seventh inning, Mercy was able to record 4 more runs to have the 5-3 advantage over Felician, but Lamar sac flied out to center field to send Haiden Walters (Coral Springs, FL) home to be down by a run going into the final inning.
With one out in the bottom of the ninth, Genao singled and was put in scoring position on a Jack Scrivanic (Tinton Falls, NJ) single. The Mavericks were just one out away from closing the afternoon with a win, but a single for Lamar tied the game at 5.
Scrivanic put himself in scoring position after a passed ball and it was up to Uejima to send him home. He went up to the plate going 0-3 in the day, but battled at the plate to slam a single into left field for the walk off hit the Golden Falcons were looking for to take the victory.
Starting pitcher Nick DeCarlo (Barnegat, NJ) pitched 6 innings and struck out 8 while giving up 6 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks. Logan Waltz (Hazlet, NJ) recorded the afternoon win with 3 innings pitched with 4 strikeouts, 3 hits and 3 runs.
The Golden Falcons are now 3-3 overall and is looking to continue to improve its record with a double header against Southern Connecticut State Saturday morning starting at 10:30am.
