Box Score 2 ANDERSON, S.C. – Felician Baseball kicked off its Tuesday afternoon with a double header against the Anderson (S.C.) Trojans in South Carolina. In the day, the Golden Falcons dropped in 10-innings in game one and was also handed a game two loss.
Game 1: 9-8 (10-innings)
The Golden Falcons went five scoreless innings until they were able to rally 4 runs in the top of the sixth to put them on the scoreboard to trail 6-4. The sixth inning runs were ignited by an Anthony Lamar (Freeport, NY) single to eventually give the green-and-gold its first two runs when Julian Uejima (River Edge, NJ) tripled into centerfield sending home Lamar and Thomas Kendrick (Jackson, NJ). By the end of the inning, the Golden Falcons secured 4 runs on 5 hits.
By the top of the seventh it was all tied up at 6 when Felician recorded two more runs from Kendrick and Jack Scrivanic (Tinton Falls, NJ). Moving into the 8th inning, Rookie of the Week, Haiden Walters (Coral Springs, FL) put himself in scoring position after the Trojans recorded its second out. Scrivanic punched a single into centerfield to send home Walters for the Felician lead. They would go and score another run in the top ninth for the 2 run advantage, but Anderson came back to send the game into extra innings.
In the extended frame, the Golden Falcons secured one out before the hosts would run away with the game giving Felician the 9-8 loss.
Kendrick went 3-4 with 3 runs and one walks and Uejima went 2-4 with 4 RBI's.
Game 2: 4-2 (7-innings)
To start off game two, Kendrick walked and then advanced to third on a Scrivanic double. Edwin Tavarez (Garfield, NJ) earned an RBI with Kendrick coming home after he grounded out to third, giving Felician the 1-0 lead.
The Trojans posted a 2 run first and sixth inning to hold the 4-1 lead over the green-and-gold. Felician would post one more run in the top of the 7th to come up short for the 4-2 loss.
Felician pitchers Nick DiMartino (Staten Island, NY) and Nick DeCarlo (Barnegat, NJ) recorded the losses in the afternoon. DiMartino was given the loss on the 10th-inning run in game one and DeCarlo pitched in 6 innings to post 7 strike outs and to give up 5 hits, 5 walks, 4 runs.
The Golden Falcons will be back on the field tomorrow at Anderson for its third game in the series starting at 4:00pm.
