Box Score RUTHERFORD, NJ – Felician Baseball capped off its rounds in South Carolina with its final game, third of the series between the two teams, against Anderson (S.C.). After nine innings, Felician dropped to the hosts in a 5-2 defeat.
In a 1-1 first two innings, the Trojans recorded back-to-back two run innings to take the 5-1 lead over the Golden Falcons. In the top of the seventh, Julian Uejima (River Edge, NJ) punched a double down the left field line to eventually advance to third base on a wild pitch. Thomas Kendrick (Jackson, NJ) took the opportunity and sent Uejima home on a sac fly for the first out of the inning and a Felician run.
Later in the inning, Anthony Lamar (Freeport, NY) reached first on a walk and Dauri Genao (West New York, NJ) clinched a center-field single to put Lamar on third. Despite the slight two-out rally, the Trojans secured its third out to end the night with a 5-2 win.
Genao went 2-4 with a walk and Uejima (2 hits) and Edwin Tavarez (Garfield, NJ) went 2-5 at the plate. Green-and-Gold starting pitcher, Logan Waltz (Hazlet, NJ) recorded the loss with 4.1 innings pitched, six hits, five runs, 5 strikeouts and one walk.
The Golden Falcons are back in action on Tuesday March 7th, when they face Molloy College in Rockville Centre, NY at 3:00pm.
