Box Score 2 RUTHERFORD, NJ – In the four game series between Felician and Le Moyne, the Golden Falcons were handed the final two game loss Sunday afternoon at Breslin Field.
In game one, the Golden Falcons were able to tie the contest at 3 in the bottom of the seventh after a Dauri Genao (West New York, NJ) RBI single and aggressive baserunning by Thomas Kendrick (Jackson, NJ) as he scored on a failed pickoff attempt.
With two outs in the bottom of the eighth, Kendrick slammed an RBI single to have Julian Uejima (River Edge, NJ) touch home for the 4-3 lead. Despite the advantage, the Dolphins would go on a 3-run rally with two doubles hit to left field to give Felician the 6-4 loss.
In the contest, Chris Fernandez (Boca Raton, FL) and Jose David Medrano (North Bergen, NJ) went 1-3 with one run and Genao also went 1-3 with an RBI. Starting pitcher, Wilfrido Valenzuela (Paterson, NJ) pitched 6.2 innings allowing three runs, four walks, and striking out nine.
During the 7-inning game two, Le Moyne started off with the 2-1 lead to ultimately score 2 more by the end of the fourth inning. The Golden Falcons would score two runs combined in the fifth and sixth inning by Dillon DiBartolomeo (Franklin Lakes, NJ) and Kendrick, but could not record a run in the final frame to take the 5-3 loss.
As a result of the series, Felician Baseball is now 7-11 overall and will be back on its home field Tuesday, March 14 to face Queens (N.Y.) for a 5:00pm match up.
