Box Score RUTHERFORD, NJ – Felician baseball was shut out by non-conference opponents Queens (N.Y.) College in a Thursday evening match-up at Breslin Field.
Felician would go through six pitchers in the contest with Logan Waltz (Hazlet, NJ) starting, pitching 5.0 innings giving up five hits, four strikeouts, and two runs. With bases loaded in the top of the sixth, Ralph Gambino (Freehold, NJ) makes his appearance on the mound to walk the first batter to give the Knights momentum to add on two more runs, 3-0.
Freshman, Haiden Walters (Coral Springs, FL) went 2-4 and Julian Uejima (River Edge, NJ), Edwin Tavarez (Garfield, NJ), and Thomas Kendrick (Jackson, NJ) went 1-4.
Bottom of the seventh, one out. Tavarez clinches his first triple of the year to put himself in scoring position. Unfortunately, Kendrick struck out while Chris Fernandez (Boca Raton, FL) flied out to left field stranding Tavarez to leave the green-and-gold scoreless.
To close out the night, the Golden Falcons opposer went three-up, three-down to hand Felician the 4-0 loss.
The baseball squad is now 7-12 overall and is looking to bounce back into the winners bracket with a three-game series with Franklin Pierce on March 18-19. On Saturday, the Golden Falcons will host a single game starting at 6:00pm at Breslin Field.
