Box Score LYNDHURTST, NJ – Felician baseball defeats the University of Bridgeport, 8-2, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match-up at Breslin Field Tuesday afternoon.
The green-and-gold would trail the Purple Knights after a two-run first inning, but would tie in the bottom of the third when Anthony Lamar (Freeport, NY) captured an RBI double to ultimately touch home for the second run for the Golden Falcons.
During the sixth, seventh, and eighth inning, Felician recorded two runs throughout each as Dauri Genao (West New York, NJ), Cole Porter (River Vale, NJ), Thomas Kendrick (Jackson, NJ), Haiden Walters (Coral Springs, FL) and Chris Fernandez (Boca Raton, FL) posted RBI at bats to propel the hosts over the Purple Knights for the 8-2 victory.
Porter went 2-3 with two runs and a RBI, Lamar went 1-2 with two runs and a RBI and Genao went 3-4 with one run and a RBI. Starting pitcher, Logan Waltz (Hazlet, NJ), secured his fifth win of the season pitching in 6.2 innings while surrendering seven hits and two runs, but striking out seven.
The baseball squad improves to 11-17 overall and 4-2 in the CACC. They will be back in action Thursday to travel to Queens (N.Y.) College for a single 9-inning game at 3:00pm.
