Box Score FLUSHING, NY – Felician baseball traveled to Queens (N.Y.) College for its second meeting in the 2023 season for a non-conference matchup Thursday afternoon. In the contest, Dauri Genao (West New York, NJ) (3-5) slammed two home runs and tied the Felician record of most runs batted in during a game with 7 RBIs.
The Golden Falcons ultimately dropped to the Knights after the hosts combined 14 runs in three-innings to hand Felician the 14-12 loss.
With a 9-0 advantage, the Golden Falcons entered the sixth inning that sparked the Knights offense surge to chip away at the Felician lead. A Knight 2 RBI home run gave them the push the hosts needed as they trailed 9-2. Genao propelled the Felician lead further as he recorded a 3 RBI homerun of his own to now hold a 10-run lead over its opposer.
By the bottom of the seventh, the Knights held off Felician from posting any more runs as they secured a 7 and 5 run inning to close out with a 14-12 lead over the Golden Falcons.
Thomas Kendrick (Jackson, NJ) went 4-5 with four runs, a double and an RBI while Haiden Walters (Coral Springs, FL) went 3-4 with three RBIs a double and a triple. Starting pitcher for the green-and-gold was Jordan Savinon (Staten Island, NY) as he pitched 6.0 innings to only surrender two runs but struck out five.
Baseball dropped to 11-18 overall and they will be back on the field tomorrow to continue conference play against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents Bridgeport for a 9-7 doubleheader in Connecticut starting at 12:00pm.
