Box Score ORANGEBURG, NY – Felician baseball hit the road to continue its three-game series with Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents, Dominican (N.Y.) University for a doubleheader in Orangeburg, NY. After game one result, the second game of the evening was postponed to a later date due to schedule conflicts.
The green-and-gold was put into a rut after the second inning when the hosts recorded nine runs to hold a 9-1 advantage. After two innings, the Golden Falcons slowly started to dig its way up from Julian Uejima (River Edge, NJ) and Dauri Genao (West New York, NJ) RBI at bats to put the squad down by three, 9-6.
By the end of the fifth inning, the Chargers posted five to edge Felician 14-6, however, the Golden Falcons battled back to record eight runs on eight hits to tie it up at 14.
With the Chargers scoring its final two runs of the contest, Chris Fernandez (Boca Raton, FL) gave a glimmer of another comeback with a homerun to right field to trail the hosts by one. Jose David Medrano (North Bergen, NJ) was placed on the basepaths after being hit by a pitch and was eventually the third out to hand the Golden Falcons the 16-15 loss.
Uejima (3-6) joins Edwin Tavarez (Garfield, NJ) in the record book with seven RBI's. Cole Porter (Paterson, NJ) went 4-5 with two runs and Fernandez entered the game midway to go 2-3 with two runs and two RBIs.
The game two contest make up date is to be determined.
The baseball team drops to 16-20 overall and 9-3 in the CACC. They will be back at Breslin Field to host Goldey-Beacom for a 7-7 doubleheader starting at 12:00pm.
