Box Score 2 LYNDHURST, NJ - Felician baseball welcomed Goldey-Beacom for a 7-7 doubleheader at Breslin Field Sunday afternoon. In both contests, the Lightning toppled the Golden Falcons to hand them the 6-3 and 8-4 losses.
GAME ONE:
In the first contest of the afternoon, the Golden Falcons sat tied with the opposers at one through six innings. Felician recorded the first run of the game from a fielder's choice at bat by Haiden Walters (Coral Springs, FL). The Lightning would record a run of their own the next inning to sit tied until the sixth as Goldey-Beacom sat with a 2-1 advantage.
Anthony Lamar (Freeport, NY) equalized the score once again with a RBI single, 2-2. By the final frame, the Lightning secured a four-run inning to edge the green-and-gold to hand the hosts its first loss of the afternoon, 6-3.
Edwin Tavarez (Garfield, NJ) went 2-3 with one run and Lamar went 2-3 with an RBI.
GAME TWO:
The Golden Falcons dropped in the score 3-1 by the end of the second inning. During the third, Tavarez ignited a three-run inning after an RBI single while Jose David Medrano (North Bergen, NJ) recorded a 2 RBI single to secure the tie at four.
From there, the Lightning would record a run in each inning while shutting out the Golden Falcons as the hosts fell 8-4.
Medrano went 1-3 with two RBIs and Jake Pellecchia (Manalapan, NJ) went 1-3 with one RBI.
The baseball squad falls to 16-22 overall and 9-5 in the CACC. The Golden Falcons will be back in action Wednesday to face Bloomfield on the road for a single game at 4:00pm.
