Box Score BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Felician baseball ignited their week with game one of the three game series with Bloomfield College on the road late Wednesday afternoon. The green-and-gold clinched a 6-0 lead by the end of the third to drop 9-8 at the end of the contest.
Haiden Walters (Coral Springs, FL) and Cole Porter (River Vale, NJ) posted RBI at bats to bring home three runs in to cap off the first. Chris Fernandez (Boca Raton, FL) kept the Felician swings hot as he secured a lead off homerun to start the third as the Golden Falcons recorded three more to hold a 6-0 advantage.
Bloomfield answered back to tie the contest at six. Edwin Tavarez (Garfield, NJ) put Felician back on top with a homerun of his own to edge the hosts 7-6. Ultimately, the Bears secured three in the next inning to propel themselves to the 9-8 win. Porter recorded another RBI hit to bring in one, but it was just shy of the win.
Porter went 3-5 with three RBI's while Tavarez finished 3-4 with three runs and an RBI.
After today, the Golden Falcons are 16-23 overall and 9-6 in the conference. The baseball squad will be back at Breslin Field this Saturday to continue the series with Bloomfield for a 9-7 doubleheader starting at noon.
