WATERBURY, CT – Felician Baseball (19-25/12-8 CACC) went head-to-head with Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division leaders, Post University, in Waterbury, CT Tuesday afternoon.
The game sat tied, 1-1, after three innings until Post took the 2-1 lead during the bottom half of the fourth. Dauri Genao (West New York, NJ) and Haiden Walters (Coral Springs, FL) ignited a three run sixth inning with a hit to eventually be sent home by a Chris Fernandez (Boca Raton, FL) 2 RBI single. Julian Uejima (River Edge, NJ) posted an RBI single of his own to record the third run of the inning and the 4-2 advantage.
The Eagles tied it up once more after the eight and ultimately recorded a walk off in the ninth to snag the 5-4 victory.
Starting pitcher for Felician, Mike Caldon (Matawan, NJ), pitched 6.0 innings with seven strikeouts. Thomas Kendrick (Jackson, NJ) went 2-5, Fernandez went 1-4 with 2 RBIs, and Jose David Medrano (North Bergen, NJ) went 2-3.
This is game one of the three game series between the two teams as Felician will host the doubleheader this Saturday at Breslin Field starting at 12pm. The Golden Falcons will also host its senior day ceremony for nine student-athletes after the conclusion of the 12:00pm contest.
