Golden Falcons Went Lights Out at Alliance For its Fourth Consecutive Shutout

NEW YORK, NY – Felician baseball continued conference play as they faced Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents Alliance University Monday afternoon. The green-and-gold shut out Alliance in both games to sweep the series 16-0 and 24-0 respectively.

GAME ONE (7-innings):

The Golden Falcons secured the 16-0 game one win after a 10-run second inning ignited by an Edwin Tavarez (Garfield, NJ) single. With 2 outs and a 5-0 advantage, Tavarez made his way back to the plate to clinch a three-RBI home run to increase the lead 8-0. Anthony Lamar (Freeport, NY) kept the squad alive with a two-RBI double to cap the 10-run second inning.

By the end of the seventh, the Golden Falcons recorded six more to close out with a 16-0 victory.

Tavarez went 2-3 with two runs and three RBI's while Lamar went 1-1 with three walks and four RBI's. Cole Porter (River Vale, NJ) went 3-4 with three RBIs and a run and Dauri Genao (West New York, NJ) went 3-6 with one run.

Logan Waltz (Hazlet, NJ) recorded his sixth win of the season with 5.0 innings pitched, eight strikeouts to only allow two hits.

GAME TWO (7-innings):

The green-and-gold recorded its largest shutout in program history with the 24-0 game two win to sweep Alliance for its fourth consecutive shutout.

Alliance was only able to post two hits in the entire contest while Mike Caldon (Matawan, NJ) struck out eleven. Haiden Walters (Coral Springs, FL) went 4-4 with five RBIs and five runs and Lamar went 2-4 with three runs and three RBI's.

Felician recorded a run in each inning aside from the final two. The most came from the top of the fourth inning, when the Golden Falcons posted seven runs on a few RBI singles and a Sean Evangelista (Jamaica, NY) triple.

Baseball improved to 15-18 overall and 8-2 in the CACC. The Golden Falcons will be back on the road Saturday to face #22 New Haven in Connecticut for a non-conference doubleheader at noon.
