Box Score WEST HAVEN, CT – Felician baseball battled with #16 New Haven Chargers in a non-conference contest Saturday afternoon in West Haven, CT. The Golden Falcons held a 2-1 lead after two innings to ultimately surrender six in the third to fall 9-5.
Edwin Tavarez (Garfield, NJ) and Haiden Walters (Coral Springs, NJ) placed themselves on the basepaths who were eventually sent home by a Chris Fernandez (Boca Raton, FL) 2 RBI single, 2-0. The Chargers answered back with a run of their own in the bottom of the second to rally six for a 7-2 advantage over the Golden Falcons.
Jack Scrivanic (Tinton Falls, NJ) gave the green-and-gold a homerun to chip away at the host lead, 7-3, and by the top of the seventh, Julian Uejima (River Edge, NJ) clinched a 2 RBI double for two more runs, 9-5. In the final two innings, Dauri Genao (West New York, NJ) was the only Golden Falcon to secure a hit in the 9-5 loss.
Scrivanic went 2-3 with two runs and one RBI while Fernandez and Uejima both went 1-4 with two RBIs. Nick DeCarlo (Barnegat, NJ) claimed the loss with 2.1 innings pitched with three strikeouts.
The Golden Falcons are now 15-19 overall and they are back home on April 11 to host Dominican (N.Y.) to continue conference play at Breslin Field at 2:00pm.
