Baseball Loses Series with Dominican on The Road

Box Score

ORANGEBURG, NY – Felician baseball heads into the new week with back-to-back-to-back Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games, starting with the completion of the 7-inning game two with Dominican (N.Y.) University from April 15 at Clover Field.

The Golden Falcons dropped 4-3 after the Chargers posted a run in the bottom of the sixth to snag the win and the series win. Anthony Lamar (Freeport, NY) went 2-2 with one walk and a home run to lead the green-and-gold while Jose David Medrano (North Bergen, NJ) and Julian Uejima (River Edge, NJ) went 1-2.

The Chargers held a 2-0 lead after the first to hold the Golden Falcons from a run until the fifth inning. Medrano ignited the inning with a single and Chris Fernandez (Boca Raton, FL) walked to have Felician runners for Uejima. Uejima laid down a bunt and was called safe on a throwing error by the Dominican pitcher to cut the deficit to one, 2-1, when Medrano scored. After a double play, Fernandez was able to slide home for the tie at two.

By the bottom half of the fifth, the hosts posted another run to edge Felician, however, during the top of the sixth, Lamar clinched a homerun, his fourth of the season, to tie the score once again, 3-3.

Although the Golden Falcons battled in the last few innings, the Chargers ultimately clinched another run to hand Felician the 4-3 loss.

Felician Baseball drops to 19-26 overall and 12-9 in the CACC. They will be back in action tomorrow afternoon at Diamond Nation to face Post University for a 1:00pm start.
