Baseball Splits Against Dominican

Nyack, NY - The Golden Falcons split to open conference play. In game one, Felician dominated Domincan by posting a 9-3 victory jumping out to an early lead and never looking back. The Golden Falcons would fall in game two, 1-5, after giving up an early lead. 

Game One

Felician wasted no time asserting dominance, erupting for five runs in the first inning to put Dominican (N.Y.) on the defensive early. The Golden Falcons capitalized on timely hitting and disciplined plate appearances to build an immediate cushion. After a few quiet frames, they reignited their offense in the fourth, tacking on two more runs to extend their lead. Their bats remained impactful until the final inning, where they secured two additional runs in the ninth, sealing a commanding 9-3 victory. As a team, Felician compiled 11 hits, eight RBIs, three stolen bases, and demonstrated patience at the plate with seven walks. The pitching staff was equally impressive, combining for eight strikeouts and limiting Dominican (N.Y.) to six hits and three earned runs over nine innings. Defensively, the Golden Falcons were sharp, recording twenty-seven putouts and eleven assists while committing just one error. Felician's explosive start and steady pitching performance propelled them to a well-earned victory, reinforcing their offensive depth and pitching reliability. Offensively, Haiden Walters was a catalyst, delivering a standout 3-for-4 performance with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored. Luis DeLaCruz was equally effective, contributing a 2-for-4 effort with a double, two RBIs, and a stolen base. Matthew Scrivanic came through in the clutch, clearing the bases with a pivotal triple to finish with three RBIs, while Chris Corchado added two hits, including a double, and drove in a run while reaching base on a hit-by-pitch. On the mound, Max Weber controlled the game through six stellar innings, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out five to earn the win. Nathan Ruth provided strong relief, tossing three innings with three strikeouts while conceding only two runs.

Game Two

Game two would fair much different despite notable individual performances from the Golden Falcons. The team demonstrated resilience by holding their opponents scoreless in four innings while committing no errors on the field. Offensively, the team managed to score one run on six hits, drawing four walks, and stealing two bases. On defense, the Golden Falcons demonstrated excellent fielding discipline by committing no errors, registering eighteen putouts, and eleven assists, which included turning two critical double plays. The pitching staff allowed five hits, five runs, while issuing four walks and striking out two batters. Haiden Walters led offensively with a 2-for-4 performance, adding a stolen base and showcasing defensive reliability with four putouts and three assists, contributing to a double play. Chris Corchado also shined, going 2-for-3 along with a stellar defensive effort recording six putouts and involvement in both double plays. Jose David Medrano provided the team's only extra-base hit, and scored Felician's lone run. Christian Bauman added to the offense with a hit and a stolen base, while Ryan Carroll delivered two innings of hitless relief.
