Baseball Wraps Up Opening Conference Series With A Split

Lyndhurst, NJ - After splitting the opening day of their conference series, the Golden Falcons concluded the day with a 1-1 record. Both games featured intense late-inning action, with Felician securing a thrilling 6-5 victory in game one before narrowly falling 5-4 in game two.

Game One

Felician demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination in their thrilling 6-5 victory over Dominican, overcoming early struggles to secure a comeback win by scoring six runs across the final four innings. The pivotal moment occurred in the seventh inning when Felician tallied three runs to take the lead, capitalizing on crucial offensive opportunities. Their persistence was evident as they added insurance runs in both the eighth and ninth innings, ensuring control of the game in its critical stages. Collectively, Felician's offense produced six runs on nine hits, including three doubles and two triples, while their pitching staff combined for 12 strikeouts over nine innings. Despite committing two errors, the defense remained steady with 27 putouts, eight assists, and a double play. Felician's balance of timely hitting, defensive reliability, and strong pitching highlighted their ability to perform under pressure, showcasing the team's potential for continued success. Leading the charge offensively for Felician, was Christian Bauman who batted 3-for-4 in the contest with a triple, and run batted in. Jeremy Espinal excelled offensively, delivering a 2-for-3 performance with a stolen base. Neisser Sanchez made a crucial impact off the bench with a pinch-hit RBI double, sparking the late-game rally. Julian Uejima's timely triple in his lone at-bat, put him in the position to score on a ball put in play on a Rocko Brzezniak ground ball. Ernesto Polanco added a vital game-tying RBI on a sacrifice fly to the right fielder, while making critical defensive contributions at third base with two assists. On the mound, Sadier Vicioso anchored the pitching staff with 6.1 innings, striking out eight and allowing just three earned runs. A pivotal moment came in the seventh inning when a clutch home run tied the game, igniting the team's comeback effort. Felician's offensive effort included seven hits, two stolen bases, and the critical home run that energized the team. Despite early defensive struggles, the team's offense capitalized on key opportunities to narrow the deficit. The pitching staff held Dominican scoreless over the final two innings, giving Felician a chance to remain competitive until the end. Rocko Brzezniak led the offensive charge with a 2-for-4 performance, a stolen base, and a run scored, while also contributing defensively with three putouts and an assist. Jose David Medrano delivered clutch situational hitting to drive in one run and anchored the defense with five putouts and four assists from behind the plate. At first base, Chris Corchado added a hit in three at-bats and excelled defensively, recording nine putouts and participating in a double play. After a dominant performance in game one of the day, Christian Bauman delivered the game-tying three run blast for his first home run of the season. On the mound, Logan Waltz provided a steady presence, pitching six innings and striking out six while allowing four runs to keep the game within reach.
