Baseball Sweeps Lincoln On The Road

Lincoln, PA -  The Golden Falcons were victorious in two close games against Lincoln Univeristy. Felician swept the Lions in a high scoring 9-8 match-up, and made a late game comeback to secure a 3-2 win in game two.

Game One

Felician's resilience and offensive firepower propelled them to a thrilling 9-8 extra-inning victory over Lincoln (Pa.). After a scoreless opening frame, the Golden Falcons broke the game open in the second inning, plating four runs to establish an early lead. They continued to apply pressure in the third, adding two more runs before Lincoln responded with a pair of their own, setting the stage for a back-and-forth battle. Despite Felician's efforts to maintain control, Lincoln clawed their way back, eventually tying the game at 8-8 and forcing extra innings. The Golden Falcons capitalized on a scoring opportunity in the 10th inning to regain the lead before their bullpen shut down Lincoln's offense in the bottom half, securing the hard-fought win. Felician tallied nine hits, seven RBIs, fourteen walks, and seven stolen bases. Their pitching staff dominated with seventeen strikeouts across 10 innings, while their defense recorded thirty putouts and three assists despite two errors. Chris Corchado played a pivotal role at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs while also showcasing his speed with two stolen bases. Ernesto Polanco powered the lineup with a home run, finishing 2-for-4 with an RBI and two walks, while Cole Porter contributed with a key double and an RBI as part of his 2-for-6 performance. R. Brzezniak also made an impact, collecting two hits, drawing a walk, and stealing a base. The offense came alive in the sixth inning with a two-run surge, highlighted by Haiden Walters' clutch pinch-hit RBI single, which not only gave Felician the lead but energized the entire team. In the final innings, the pitching staff and defense displayed composure and focus, successfully suppressing Lincoln's comeback attempts. Offensively, Chris Corchado led the charge, going 1-for-2 with a lead off double and a walk. Walters delivered in a pinch-hitting role recording a single, an RBI on a hit by pitch, and stealing a base. Jose David Medrano demonstrated patience at the plate, reaching base twice via a walk and a hit-by-pitch, and contributing a crucial run. On the mound, Andrew Gendi opened with 3.2 innings of solid work, striking out four and allowing only one earned run, while Johnny Gilligan delivered a dominant 1.2 innings in relief, recording four strikeouts and maintaining the lead. Logan Waltz added 0.2 innings of scoreless relief, striking out one. Defensively, Medrano anchored the team with nine putouts behind the plate, while Ernesto Polanco and Jeremy Espinal made key plays in the infield, combining for five assists.
