Game Recap: Softball |

Softball Splits Against Jefferson To Open Conference Play

Little Ferry, NJ - The Golden Falcons of Felician split to open up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play for the 2025 season. The Golden Falcons had a dominant shutout victory in game one, posting a final score of 4-0. Game two would be a hard fought battle, but Felician would ultimately fall 5-2.

Game One

Felician secured a commanding 4-0 victory over Jefferson, with all four of their runs coming in a decisive second inning. The Golden Falcons capitalized on timely hitting and aggressive base running to establish an early lead, while their defense remained impenetrable, limiting Jefferson to just three hits throughout the game. The team recorded three hits, two RBIs, and two stolen bases while drawing two walks. Defensively, the Golden Falcons were sharp, racking up twenty-one putouts and twelve assists despite committing two errors. With dominant pitching and a disciplined defensive effort, Felician set the tone early and never looked back, securing a well-earned shutout victory. Pitcher Riley Williams delivered an outstanding performance in the circle. Williams tossed a complete-game shutout with five strikeouts, and only two walks across all seven innings. Offensively, Sienna Meli played a key role in the second-inning rally, going 1-for-1 with an RBI and a walk, while Kimberly Torres contributed with a clutch RBI single, and reached base after being hit by a pitch. Kylie Sharapan registered a hit and scored a run to further extend the Golden Falcons' offensive momentum.

Game Two

Felician opened the game with a strong offensive push, plating a run in both the first and second innings to establish an early lead. The Golden Falcons' pitching staff held Jefferson in check through five innings, effectively limiting scoring opportunities and maintaining control of the game. However, momentum shifted in the sixth inning when Jefferson capitalized on key opportunities, scoring three runs to seize the lead. Despite a resilient effort in the seventh, where Felician added another run, the comeback fell short. As a team, the Golden Falcons tallied five hits, six walks, and two RBIs while striking out just twice. Defensively, they recorded 21 putouts and four assists but were hampered by four errors, which proved costly. Despite the promising start, defensive struggles ultimately played a crucial role in Felician's hard-fought 5-3 loss. Offensively, Jullianna Saint Hilaire led the charge with a disciplined performance at the plate, going 1-for-2 with a double, an RBI, and drawing two walks. Kimberly Torres also contributed significantly, finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Mikayla Brown added a hit and scored a run, making an impact both offensively and defensively with three putouts. In the circle, Felician's pitching staff combined for four strikeouts over seven innings, surrendering five runs, though only three were earned. Getting the ball to start for Felician, was Jocelyn Moody who tossed 5.2 innings in the circle. Closing out the contest was Skye Limardo, who tossed 1.1 innings in the contest.
