Softball Battle In Close Games As They Split Against Bloomsnurg

Bloomsburg, PA - The Golden Falcons battled against Bloomsburg University, to earn a split on the day. Felician would go on to drop game one by a final score of 5-3, and win game two, 2-1.

Game One

Felician fought hard but ultimately fell short in a 5-3 loss to Bloomsburg, despite a late offensive push. The Golden Falcons struggled to generate early momentum at the plate, going scoreless through the first five innings before finally breaking through with a run in the sixth. They continued their rally attempt in the seventh, adding two more runs, but were unable to erase the deficit created by Bloomsburg's early scoring, which included a pivotal two-run third inning. Overall, Felician tallied six hits, three RBIs, and three home runs . Their pitching staff combined for five strikeouts over six innings while allowing seven hits and two walks. Despite their resilience and strong defensive showing, the Golden Falcons couldn't complete the comeback. Defensively, the Golden Falcons played a clean game, committing no errors and keeping Bloomsburg to just seven hits. Jullianna Saint Hilaire led the offensive effort, going 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, and an RBI. Mikayla Brown contributed a clutch solo home run, while Victorie Leon delivered in a key moment off the bench, launching a pinch-hit home run in the final inning. In the circle, Riley Williams provided stability in relief, tossing two scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, and striking out two. Mallory Shevlin started the game, working four innings with three strikeouts but surrendering five earned runs.

Game Two

Felician secured a well-earned victory through a combination of clutch hitting, dominant pitching, and steady defensive play. Their balanced and composed approach allowed them to hold off Bloomsburg's late-game efforts, securing a hard-fought 2-1 win. The game remained scoreless through the first three innings as both teams struggled to generate offense. Overall, Felician's offensive efforts resulted in five hits, two RBIs, and a home run, while their disciplined approach at the plate saw them draw three walks. Their pitching staff, led by Limardo, was highly effective, striking out four and walking none over seven innings of work. Defensively, the Golden Falcons were sharp, registering twenty-one putouts and five assists, with just one error on the day. The Golden Falcons broke through in the fourth inning when Skye Limardo delivered the defining moment of the game—a towering two-run home run that put Felician ahead. Bloomsburg had previously managed to scratch across a run in the bottom of the third, but that would be their only scoring output of the game as Felician's pitching and defense tightened.  Limardo's performance extended beyond her offensive heroics, as she controlled the game from the circle, pitching a complete-game gem, allowing just one earned run on five hits while striking out four. Kelsey Sharapan contributed offensively with a key 1-for-3 performance, while Sadie Kittoe also recorded a base hit. Sienna Meli played a crucial part, going 1-for-3 at the plate and providing steady defense with three assists.
