New Castle, DE - After an emotional game against Jefferson, Felician would take on Wilmington (Del.) for the CACC Championship Game . Felician was unable to match the offensive explosion from Wilmington, ultimately falling by a score of 20–3. The Golden Falcons fell behind early after Wilmington posted five runs in the second inning and continued adding to their lead in almost every subsequent frame. Despite the mounting deficit, Felician showed competitive spirit, breaking through with a two-run fourth inning and tacking on one more run in the ninth. While the final score reflected a tough outing, the team showed flashes of resilience and produced a few strong individual performances.
Offensively, Felician finished the day with five hits and five walks, managing to score three runs. The lineup struck out just three times but struggled to capitalize on baserunners, leaving six men stranded and grounding into two double plays. While some hitters reached base effectively, consistent rallies were hard to come by. Defensively, the team recorded twenty-four putouts and eleven assists but also committed two errors, adding pressure to an already difficult day on the mound. Pitching was the most significant hurdle for Felician; over eight innings, five different pitchers combined to allow twenty-one hits, twenty runs (eighteen earned), seven walks, and two hit batters. The game's turning point came early, as Wilmington surged ahead with a five-run second inning that the Golden Falcons never recovered from. Felician mounted a response in the fourth inning, when patient plate appearances and timely contact led to two runs. That brief momentum shift, however, was short-lived, as Wilmington continued to pour on runs in the middle and late innings. In the ninth, with the game out of reach, Felician showed grit by scoring a third run to close the game with a modest rally. Though the deficit was considerable, the team's refusal to concede quietly was a small but notable positive from the game.
Second baseman
Bryan Santana emerged as Felician's most effective offensive weapon. He went 2-for-3 with an RBI and was also hit by a pitch, resulting in an exceptional .750 on-base percentage. Santana's contributions were responsible for setting up and driving in runs during Felician's productive fourth inning. First baseman
Luis DeLaCruz added to the effort with a 1-for-3 performance, scoring one of the team's three runs. Additionally, pinch-hitter
Neisser Sanchez delivered an RBI on a fielder's choice, in the fourth-inning scoring.
The Golden Falcons will await the NCAA Selection Show at 10:30 PM EST to see if they have clinched an at-large spot in the Regional Round of the NCAA Tournament.
