Sparks, MD. - The Felician University women's lacrosse team dropped its 2026 season opener on Sunday afternoon, falling to the University of Lynchburg, 15-3.
Lynchburg used a strong first half to build separation, scoring three goals in the opening quarter before erupting for eight to take an 11-2 lead into the break.
Felician found momentum midway through the second quarter when
Madison Cancela netted an unassisted goal to put the Golden Falcons on the board.
Aly Amadruto added another tally with two minutes left before halftime.
The Golden Falcons continued to battle in the second half, highlighted by
Kayla Fox's early fourth quarter goal. Fox finished with a team-high four shots, three ground balls, and one caused turnover. Amadruto recorded five shots and two draw controls, while
Mackenzie Fox contributed five draw controls, three caused turnovers, and two ground balls.
Jessica Naoum made two saves in the first half, while
Natalia Ogando turned aside eight shots. Felician controlled the draw circle, holding an 11-8 advantage and converted all but five clears.
The Golden Falcons will host Saint Anselm on Wednesday, February 25 at 12:00 PM.
