New Haven, CT - Felician battled throughout their matchup with Southern Connecticut, highlighted by strong defensive efforts and late offensive contributions from several Golden Falcons.
Goalkeeper Jessica Naoum led the defensive effort for Felician, recording 15 saves throughout the game while under pressure. Her early stops helped keep the Golden Falcons in the contest as the defense worked to regain possession.
Felician generated several offensive opportunities during the first half. Kayla Fox led the early attack with multiple shots and eventually broke through in the closing seconds of the second quarter, scoring with one second remaining to put Felician on the board heading into halftime.
The Golden Falcons continued to create chances in the second half. Madison Cancela added Felician's second goal of the game on a free-position attempt in the fourth quarter. Felician also received key efforts in transition from Rachael Rodriguez, who collected multiple ground balls, while Mackenzie Fox contributed defensively with a caused turnover and ground ball.
Felician capped the game with a late goal as Mary Gazaleh found the net in the final seconds off an assist from Kathleen Lopez.
