Pembroke, NC - Felician displayed a competitive showing but fell 4–2 to Chowan at Willoughby Field after a late rally came up just short.
The Golden Falcons threatened early, loading the bases in the first inning, but were unable to score. Chowan took advantage in the bottom half with a sacrifice fly to grab a 1–0 lead, then added three runs in the fourth to create separation.
Felician stayed persistent at the plate and broke through in the sixth inning. Kelsey Vitalis singled and later scored on an RBI double by Kimberly Torres, who stayed locked in all afternoon. Torres delivered again in the seventh with an RBI single, cutting the deficit to two and bringing the tying run to the plate.
As a team, Felician finished with two runs on seven hits, drawing three walks and putting consistent pressure on the basepaths late. The Golden Falcons limited mistakes defensively, committing no errors, and worked multiple scoring opportunities against Chowan pitching in the final two innings.
Torres finished a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and both RBIs, while Vitalis added two hits and a run. Mikayla Brown chipped in a hit as Felician totaled seven hits on the day.
In the circle, Jocelyn Moody was sharp in relief, throwing three scoreless innings with three strikeouts to keep Felician within reach. Defensively, the Golden Falcons settled in after the fourth and limited further damage.
