New Castle, DE - Felician fell in a back-and-forth contest on Sunday, dropping a 10–9 decision to Wilmington (Del.) in walk-off fashion. The Golden Falcons built multiple leads throughout the game, including a late two-run advantage, but were unable to hold off a ninth-inning rally.
Felician scored nine runs on 14 hits, including six doubles and eight singles. The Golden Falcons drew two walks and struck out seven times while leaving eight runners on base.
Felician came out strong with a three-run first inning. Jose David Medrano singled to start the rally before Luis De La Cruz doubled to drive in the game's first run. Bryce Curry followed with a single, and Andrew DeAngelis delivered a two-run double to give the Falcons an early 3–0 lead.
The Falcons added to their lead in the third inning. De La Cruz singled and Curry doubled before Haiden Walters delivered a three-run double to extend the advantage to 6–1.
After Wilmington surged ahead, Felician responded in the fifth inning when Walters drove in a run with a groundout to tie the game at 7–7.
Felician regained control in the sixth inning. De La Cruz doubled and Medrano reached before Curry came through with a two-run double to give the Falcons a 9–7 lead.
Luis De La Cruz led the offense with three hits and three runs scored, while Bryce Curry went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI. Haiden Walters added two hits and four RBI, and Andrew DeAngelis contributed a double and two RBI. Jose David Medrano chipped in with two hits and scored twice.
Felician used four pitchers in the game. Sadier Vicioso started and allowed seven runs (five earned) over 3.1 innings. Andrew Gendi provided 3.2 innings of relief, allowing one unearned run while striking out three. Brandon Lynn added 1.1 innings, and Gavin Enright took the loss after allowing the winning run in the ninth.
