Nutley, NJ - Felician swept its doubleheader against Chestnut Hill on Saturday, securing a 7–0 win in Game One before outlasting a high-scoring 10–6 victory in Game Two. The Golden Falcons improve their record to 16-18 (7-3 in CACC), and keep their perfect home record alive.
Game One
Felician controlled the game from the outset, scoring in three of the first four innings and finishing with seven runs on 11 hits while holding Chestnut Hill to just three hits.
The Falcons jumped ahead in the first inning behind Karina De La Vega's two-run home run, followed by an RBI single from Kailey Alas to make it 3–0. Kimberly Torres extended the lead with a solo home run in the second, and Felician broke it open in the third. Kelsey Vitalis delivered an RBI double, and Autumn Eck followed with a two-run single to push the advantage to 7–0.
Kimberly Torres led the offense with two hits, including a home run, and scored twice. Karina De La Vega added a home run and two RBI, while Makayla De La Rosa collected two doubles. Autumn Eck provided a key two-RBI hit off the bench, and Kelsey Vitalis added an RBI double.
Jocelyn Moody was dominant in the circle, tossing a complete-game shutout. She allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out seven.
Game Two
Felician built an early cushion, responded to a mid-game surge, and finished with 10 runs on 16 hits to complete the sweep.
The Falcons opened with two runs in the first inning as Karina De La Vega tripled in a run and Mikayla Brown followed with an RBI single. Felician added four more in the second, highlighted by a two-run single from Brown as part of a four-run frame.
After Chestnut Hill rallied in the third to take a brief lead, Felician answered immediately in the bottom half. Kimberly Torres delivered an RBI single to tie the game, regaining momentum.
Felician pulled away in the fifth inning. Kailey Alas drove in two with a double, and Autumn Eck followed with an RBI single to extend the lead to 10–6.
