Softball Continues Their Playoff Push With A Series Split Against Jefferson

Philadelphia, PA - Felician split its doubleheader at Jefferson on Friday, using a late offensive push to secure an 8–6 win before dropping the second game 7–4.

Game One

Felician's offense built throughout the afternoon, finishing with eight runs on 14 hits while consistently putting pressure on the defense with six walks.

The Falcons first broke through in the third when Karina De La Vega drove a solo home run to center. They added on in the fourth with timely contact, including a two-run single from De La Vega that stretched the lead to 4–1.

Felician kept adding in key spots rather than relying on one big inning. In the sixth, Brielle Cubala lined an RBI single, and in the seventh the Falcons created separation. Kelsey Vitalis delivered a two-run home run, and De La Vega followed with an RBI double to push the advantage to 8–1.

Karina De La Vega paced the lineup with a perfect 5-for-5 performance, driving in four runs and collecting three extra-base hits. Kelsey Vitalis added three hits and two RBI, while Brielle Cubala and Alyson Walling each recorded multi-hit games as Felician totaled 14 hits.

Jocelyn Moody went the distance in the circle, allowing four runs while working through traffic late. The defense backed her with two double plays at key moments to help close out the win.

Game Two

The second game had a different flow, with Felician working from behind early and trying to chip away.

Felician collected eight hits and took advantage of opportunities in the middle innings. Annika Smith brought in a run with a triple in the fourth, and the Falcons made their strongest push in the sixth. Kimberly Torres turned on a pitch for a three-run home run, quickly cutting into the deficit.

Despite the momentum shift, Felician couldn't complete the comeback. The Falcons put runners on in the final inning but were unable to extend the rally.

Kimberly Torres led the offense with three hits and three RBI, while Annika Smith added a triple and a run driven in. Karina De La Vega and Kelsey Vitalis each contributed a hit as Felician finished with eight hits as a team.

In the circle, Skye Limardo started before Kelsey Vitalis provided steady relief work, limiting damage over the final four innings and keeping Felician within striking distance.
