Box Score The Felician University women's lacrosse team showed resilience in the second half, but an early deficit proved too much to overcome in a 17-2 loss to Georgian Court on April 11.
Georgian Court controlled the pace from the opening draw, jumping out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter and extending it to 11-0 by halftime. Felician struggled to find offensive rhythm early, managing just two shots in the first half while facing constant pressure on the defensive end.
Felician responded with improved energy after the break. Kathleen Lopez put the Golden Falcons on the board in the third quarter off an assist from Madison Cancela, highlighting a stronger offensive push. Cancela later added a goal of her own in the fourth quarter on a free-position opportunity, accounting for both Felician scores.
Defensively, Felician showed grit despite the scoreline. The Golden Falcons held a 17-15 edge in ground balls, with Kayla Fox leading the effort with six pickups. Goalkeeper Jessica Maoum recorded four saves while facing 30 shots.
Felician's offense generated more chances in the second half, finishing with 12 total shots after being limited early, but Georgian Court's balanced attack and efficient finishing kept the game out of reach.
The Golden Falcons will look to build on their second-half improvements as they continue conference play.
