Softball Swept By STAC On The Road

Sparkill, NY - Felician dropped both ends of its doubleheader against St. Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday, falling 8–7 in Game One before a 9–5 loss in Game Two. The Golden Falcons combined for 20 hits on the day and showed late offensive push in both contests.

Game One

Felician finished with seven runs on 13 hits, responding multiple times after falling behind early.

The Falcons opened the scoring in the first when Kimberly Torres doubled and later scored on a defensive sequence. After falling behind, Felician answered in the third. Karina De La Vega doubled to set up the inning, and Kelsey Vitalis followed with a two-RBI single to cut into the deficit.

Felician continued to chip away in the fourth. Torres delivered a two-run double to bring the Falcons within one, making it 6–5.

After St. Thomas Aquinas added another run, Felician mounted a late push in the seventh. Alyson Walling singled to start the inning, and Mikayla Brown followed with a two-run home run to tie the game at 7–7.

Kimberly Torres led the offense with two doubles, two RBI, and two runs scored, while Hannah Ramirez added three hits. Kelsey Vitalis recorded two hits and two RBI, and Karina De La Vega contributed two hits. Mikayla Brown provided the key swing with her game-tying home run.

In the circle, Kelsey Vitalis started before Kylie Dressel provided four innings of steady relief, allowing just one run. Jocelyn Moody was charged with the loss after the go-ahead run in the seventh.

Game Two

Felician totaled five runs on seven hits, doing most of its damage in a single inning.

After being held scoreless through four innings, Felician broke through in the fifth with a five-run rally. Mikayla Brown delivered the biggest swing with a three-run home run, while Kelsey Vitalis added a sacrifice fly and another run scored on a wild pitch to briefly give the Falcons the lead.

St. Thomas Aquinas responded in the bottom half and extended its lead later, while Felician was unable to generate another scoring push.

Mikayla Brown led the offense with a home run and three RBI, while Alyson Walling recorded two hits. Kimberly Torres reached base three times with a hit and two walks, and Autumn Eck added two hits.

Jocelyn Moody started and took the loss, allowing four runs over three innings. Mallory Shevlin followed with three innings in relief.
