Softball Drops Two To Caldwell

Caldwell, NJ - Felician dropped both games of its doubleheader against Caldwell on Tuesday, falling 14–1 in Game One before a 7–6 walk-off loss in Game Two.

Game One

Felician totaled one run on three hits, collecting a double, a triple, and a single while drawing one walk and striking out four times.

The Falcons struck first in the opening inning. Mikayla Brown doubled to start the frame and came around to score on a triple to right field from Karina De La Vega.

Caldwell answered immediately and took control over the next two innings, including a seven-run third inning that created separation. Felician was unable to generate additional offense over the final four innings. De La Vega recorded the RBI triple, while Mikayla Brown added a double and scored the lone run. Makayla De La Rosa contributed a hit.

Kylie Dressel took the loss, allowing 14 runs (six earned) over three innings. Mallory Shevlin followed with a scoreless inning in relief.

Game Two

Felician produced six runs on eight hits, including three doubles and five singles, while drawing two walks and striking out six times.

The Falcons created their advantage in the middle innings. Karina De La Vega delivered a two-run single in the third inning to open the scoring, and Felician added four more in the fourth. Alyson Walling singled in a run, Kailey Alas lifted a sacrifice fly, De La Vega drove in another run after reaching on an error, and Mikayla Brown doubled to extend the lead to 6–0.

Caldwell responded with five runs in the fifth inning to cut the deficit to one, and Felician was unable to add insurance over the final three innings.In the seventh inning, Caldwell tied the game and followed with a walk-off RBI single to secure the 7–6 final. Karina De La Vega led the offense with two hits and three RBI. Kelsey Vitalis added two doubles, while Alyson Walling recorded two hits and an RBI. Mikayla Brown contributed a double and an RBI.

Jocelyn Moody started and allowed five runs over four innings. Skye Limardo worked the final 2.2 innings in relief.
