Waterbury, CT - Felician came away with a split against Post on Tuesday, breaking open a tight game late for a 17–10 win before being edged 2–1 in the second contest.
Game One
Felician piled up 17 runs on 14 hits and reached base consistently throughout, drawing 15 walks and forcing Post to work from the stretch all afternoon.
The Falcons established an early edge with runs in the first and third, but the game stayed within reach as Post worked back to even things up midway through. Felician regained control in the eighth, using a sacrifice fly from Brandon Petrick and back-to-back RBI singles from Haiden Walters and Luis De La Cruz to move in front.
The game turned completely in the ninth. Felician erupted for 10 runs on eight hits, capitalizing on defensive miscues while stringing together extra-base hits and timely contact. Luis De La Cruz delivered a two-run double, Andrew DeAngelis added a two-run double of his own, and Jose David Medrano was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in another run as the Falcons pulled away.
Walters and Rocko Brzezniak each collected multiple hits at the top of the order, while De La Cruz finished with three RBI. Braden Walsh scored three times, and Ernesto Polanco added a multi-hit effort.
Max Weber handled the start and struck out eight across four innings. Antonio Sansone followed with three scoreless innings to pick up the win, Andrew Gendi bridged into the ninth, and Dean Daddio and Nick Dimartino combined to finish it off.
Game Two
The second game played at a much slower pace, with offense harder to come by on both sides.
Felician managed five hits but never found a sustained rally. The lone run came in the second inning when Andrew DeAngelis lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home Rocko Brzezniak.
From there, chances were limited. A few baserunners reached, but nothing materialized into a second scoring push as the Falcons were held to a single run.
Braden Walsh accounted for two of the team's five hits, while Jose David Medrano and Luis De La Cruz each added one.
On the mound, the pitching kept Felician within striking distance throughout. Chris Laieta set the tone early with six strikeouts over 3.1 innings, Jackson Walsh followed briefly, and Collin Kratzer delivered two clean innings out of the bullpen. Andrew Gendi was tagged with the loss after the go-ahead run crossed in the seventh.
