Box Score 2 LYNDHURST, N.J. – Junior pitcher Kristen Tenwolde (Ramona, CA/Ramona) did not allow an earned run in two five-inning complete-game victories and was supported by a combined 20 base hits as Felician College won both ends of its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference softball doubleheader from visiting Post University, 9-1 and 8-0, on Friday afternoon at Matera Field.
Felician freshman shortstop Aimee Lopez (Riverbank, CA/Riverbank) went 6 for 7 on the afternoon, scoring four runs from the leadoff spot in the batting order.
In the opener, Post (8-20, 6-6) scratched across an unearned run in the top of the first inning on a Stephanie DeMartino (Staten Island, NY) RBI single. Behind the pitching of Johanna Rice (Glendale, NY/St. Francis Prep) (4-10), the Eagles carried the 1-0 lead into the fifth.
Felician then exploded for its largest offensive inning of the season, a nine-spot that ended the game. The Golden Falcons had eight hits in the frame, and benefited from two walks and a wild pitch. Lopez, who went 4 for 4 in the game, and Zharde Sellona (Aliso Viejo, CA/Aliso Niguel) had two hits each in the inning.
After three runs were already in, Grace Keller (Hoboken, NJ/Holy Family Academy) padded the lead with a two-run double. One out later, Alyssa Banca (East Rutherford, NJ/Becton Regional) drove in two runs with a triple. Lopez followed with another triple, and Sellona ended the game with an RBI single up the middle.
Tenwolde allowed five hits over five innings, with no strikeouts and one walk. DeMartino went 2 for 3 for the Eagles.
Felician (4-24, 2-6) carried the momentum into Game 2, scoring seven runs in the first two innings off of Post starter Ashley Cummings (Stafford, VA/Mountain View) (4-8). After an RBI single by Taylor Parker (Surrey, B.C./Semiahmoo) in the fourth, the only drama that remained was to see if Tenwolde could finish a no-hitter.
The 6-foot-2 right-hander came within one out of the gem before the Eagles' Samantha Pagano (Marlboro, NY/Marlboro) looped a single over third base. Tenwolde struck out the next hitter and settled for her first shutout of the season.
Parker went 3 for 3 with two doubles and four RBI. Lopez and Ciera Clark (Granite Bay, CA/Del Oro) (2 RBI) had two hits apiece, and Keller stroked a two-run double in the first. Tenwolde (3-12) struck out one batter and walked one in her one-hitter.
