LANTANA, Fla. -- Chestnut Hill College scored the go-ahead run on a steal of home and broke the game open with five seventh-inning runs in its 11-4 non-conference baseball victory over Felician College during the Palm Beach Challenge on Thursday afternoon at the Santaluces Sports Complex.

Felician (4-10), the designated home team, scored three times in the bottom of the fourth inning to tie the game at 4-4. Senior Mickey Zudonyi (Holmdel, NJ) stroked a two-run double in the inning, and later scored on a foul pop-up.

Chestnut Hill, however, put its first two runners on base in the sixth on an error and a single. Following a sacrifice bunt and a fielder's choice, the Griffins had runners on first and third and two outs. When Felician left-handed reliever Jack Fowler (Shrewsbury, NJ) attempted a pickoff throw to first base, the runner on third, Mike McLaughlin (Philadelphia, PA) broke for the plate and beat the throw home.

The Griffins (4-6) then sent 10 men to the plate in the seventh, banging out six hits. CHC catcher Tim DiMonte (Downingtown, PA) capped the rally with a two-run single.

Felician senior Miguel Hidalgo (Ridgefield, NJ) had a double and a triple, and Jimmy Simpson (Biscayne Park, FL) and Zudonyi also posted two hits apiece. Starting pitcher Chet Godfrey (Millville, NJ) (1-2) took the loss, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits with four strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.

CHC right-hander Jim Goodwin Jr. (Delran, NJ) (1-0) pitched a complete-game, scattering nine hits while striking out three Golden Falcons and walking four. Jesse Daywalt (Phoenixville, PA) went 4 for 5 for the Griffins and Alex Latchum (Warrington, PA) hit a two-run home run.
