Box Score HILLBURN, N.Y. – Dominican (N.Y.) College scored nine goals in the first 10 ½ minutes of its eventual 20-2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's lacrosse victory over visiting Felician University on Tuesday afternoon at the Torne Valley Athletics Complex.
Freshman Liana Chirichiello (Waldwick, N.J.) scored both goals and added three caused turnovers and two draw controls for Felician (0-7, 0-5 CACC).
Dominican junior Shayne Gallagher (Blauvelt, N.Y.) opened the game's scoring, tallying twice in the first two minutes. Charger junior Amber June (Stony Point, N.Y.) picked up two goals 20 seconds apart in the sixth minute of play to put the hosts up 4-0.
The Charger offense continued to click, moving ahead 9-0 on a Christina Brennan (Washington Township, N.J.) score with 19 minutes, 30 seconds, left in the first half. Dominican forced running time with their 10th goal, by June at the 16:40 mark, and led, 17-0, at halftime.
Dominican (3-10, 3-4) piled up a 44-5 shot advantage (31-1 in the first half). Felician sophomore goalkeeper Kathleen Britanak (Toms River, N.J.) matched a season high with 13 saves and added four ground balls. Charger goalie Brittany Kiernan (Clarkstown, N.Y.) made three saves to earn the victory.
Junior Berlina Cebian (Union, N.J.) led the Golden Falcons with three draw controls.
Brennan had nine points (4g 5a) and June also scored four goals for Dominican. Junior Haliann Fitzgerald (Walden, N.Y.) totaled three goals and three assists.
