Box Score LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – Chestnut Hill College scored eight goals in the first 10 minutes and went on to a 21-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's lacrosse victory over visiting Felician University on Saturday evening at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School's Victory Field #1.
The result was the first shutout in Chestnut Hill history, and was the initial time Felician, a first-year program, has been blanked. The Griffins out-shot Felician, 37-1.
Freshman midfielder Liana Chirichiello (Waldwick, N.J.) led the Golden Falcons (0-3, 0-2 CACC) with four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Senior Susie McKeever (North Fort Myers, Fla.) picked up two of Felician's five draw controls.
Felician sophomore goalkeeper Kathleen Britanak (Toms River, N.J.) was credited with five saves.
The Griffins (4-5, 2-0) featured six different goal scorers in the game's first seven minutes. They forced running time with a 10-0 advantage with 6:15 left in the first half, and carried a 12-0 edge into halftime.
Junior Lea Sanders (North Merrick, N.Y.) and sophomore Julia Galantich (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) led CHC with three goals and two assists apiece. Junior Samantha Herron (Cinnaminson, N.J.) also registered five points (1g 4a) and added seven draw controls.
Junior Tainely Perez (Totowa, N.J.) got off Felician's only shot, a free position attempt with 11:13 to play in the game which was saved.
