Felician scored three runs on just one base hit off of Bloomfield pitcher Kirsten Wilson (Beaver Falls, Pa./Riverside) in the top of the first inning. After loading the bases with no one out on two walks and a hit batsman, Felician received a two-run double by freshman designated player Racquel Manzo (Whittier, Calif./La Habra). A third run scored on the play on a throwing error. Wilson escaped further damage by striking out the next three hitters.
The Golden Falcons tacked on a run in the fourth. Amanda Lopez (Riverbank, Calif./Riverbank) led off with a double, and scored on a two-out RBI single by Zeaenna Brackett (Woodbury, N.J/Woodbury).
Felician sophomore pitcher Ashley Owens (Lockport, N.Y./Starpoint) (11-15) entered the fifth working on a two-hit shutout. But with runners on first and second, the Bears (24-22) came up with five consecutive two-out hits. Bloomfield plated the tying run on a throwing error following Wilson's RBI single, and a run-scoring hit from Faith Apolskis (Soquel, Calif) gave the Bears the lead for good.
Bloomfield chased Owens with three more hits in the seventh, eventually scoring two insurance runs.
Wilson gave up three earned runs on three hits in a complete-game effort. She struck out nine batters and walked five. Mariah Frazier (Port Angeles, Wash.) was 2 for 4 with two RBI.
Brackett walked and scored in the first inning, tying the Felician record of 37 runs scored in a season held by Haylee Williams (2014).
